Railroad View:  Excellent View!  Higher floors on the east side of the motel would be best, such as rooms 248, 348, 247, 347, 346, 345, 344.  Also north side rooms that end with odd numbers 21-35, 2nd & 3rd floors needed.  Windows do not open (at least mine did not). Pleanty of light to video trains at night.  The trains DO blow their horn past the motel, it will wake you up!  Only one train past during my 13-hour visit, it was 3:55am.

Railroads past Hotel:  Norfolk Southern Railway.

Notes:

Comments:  When I checked in, I asked if trains run past the motel, the answer was ; "Yes, 10:00".  Sounded like an odd answer for a freight line.  I checked in at 8:55pm and departed 10:00am the next morning, the only train that past was at 3:55am, it was a Union Pacific SD70ACe pulling a Triple-Crown Roadrailer train.  Not what I expected and I never did find out anything about this line.  The motel is an older property with exterior corridors, although some parts of the room were updated, cleanliness, and upkeep lacked in some areas.  I didn't have any issues here, the breakfast was very good, and the room was fine for my one night visit.  There is no longer a McDonald's next door, there is a mini-mart a doors down, any other food you will need to drive or have it delivered.

Photo Comment:  The Quality Inn is the larger building shown in this aerial photo.  There are 9 good rooms on the east side of the building that face the tracks directly; those rooms are on the front of the building (same side as the main entrance).  You can see the single railroad track across the street.
