Railroad past Hotel:  Union Pacific (former Chicago & North Western RR mainline)

Notes:  Several nice areas in town to watch trains.  UP / BNSF / CP (IC&E), and an ADM Plant with their own locomotive can be seen in Clinton.  Clinton is about an hour west of Rochelle, IL where the popular Rochelle Railroad Park is located.

Comments: During two separate visits a few years apart, I had Lady Bugs inside my room in the window area.  I do not know if it was the same room.  Both visits I did ask for a room on the 3rd floor on the railroad end of the building.

Picture Comments: This view looks north from a window on the 3rd floor on the railroad end of the building.  Despite the large looking railroad yard, this is a very quiet motel, I didn't hear any moving train's, including switching during my stay.  I believe the tank cars & grain cars in the yard near the motel are stored for the ADM plant.  Both of my visits were in August.  Smokestack in the distance is the ADM plant.
