Railroad View: Excellent view. All rooms on the 4th floor are smoking rooms. Most rooms on the 2nd & 3rd floors also have an excellent view. Rooms in the center of the building on the 2nd & 3rd floors maybe blocked by the canapé over the front door. Front desk gave us a choice of rooms, the first choice was a good choice, room # 228. Exterior lighting from nearby mall & other local stores provide enough light to view trains at night. Window does open, with a screen.
Railroads past Hotel: Norfolk Southern. Train frequency is very low. Front desk clerk said only about 2 trains pass in daylight, sometimes they stop in front of the motel to grab a bite at Burger King located across from the motel.
Notes: I stayed here on a Memorial Day holiday. No trains passed the motel during my 16 hour stay.
Comments: Very nice motel, Excellent staff & breakfast! Within walking distance of the motel is Burger King, Golden Corral, Chucky Cheese, Popeye’s, and a large shopping mall.
Picture Comments: This view looks at the single track line from room # 228. Trains run along the tree line. The view was excellent, but no trains passed the motel during my 16-hour Memorial Day holiday stay. Motel clerk said only about 2 trains a day pass the motel. I expected this line to be a bit busier than that. Anybody with correct info on train frequency, please drop me a note at [email protected] .
