Railroad View: Good View. Ask for a room on the west or south side of the motel to get a railroad view.
Railroads past Hotel: CSX / Amtrak / Tri-Rail (commuter railroad). Expect 60-trains during a 24-Hour period. The breakdown is as follows: Tri-Rail = 50 trains (5am to 10pm), Amtrak = 4 trains (all during daylight), CSX = around 6 trains daily. Most freights pass between 10pm and 4am - overnight. Mid-morning, I was able to catch a local freight heading northbound on most days during my one-week visit. The local freights I saw ranged from 2 cars to 20 cars, and were powered by a single EMD (GP38-2 or similar).
Comments: Very poor reviews on the internet, as one guest stated "the train whistles are the least of the problem with this motel". Due to nature of reviews, we do not recommend this motel, we list it for information purposes only. This motel has not been rated by RailfanMotels.com
Photo Comment: The aerial view of the Holiday Park Hotel shows the field of view (visioned in yellow), along with the two sections of the hotel that will offer a view (marked in blue). Since the hotel offers exterior corridors, its easy to step outside your room when you hear the trains blowing their horn for the West Hillsboro Blvd crossing which is seen in the top of the picture. With a little more advanced notice, you can walk across the street and be track side. Please note, some reviews of this area on the internet point out that this may not be a very safe area. As always be aware of your surroundings, especially if you are carrying expensive cameras.
Walking distance to Amtrak / Tri-Rail Deerfield Beach train station.
