Railroad View: Excellent View! You will need a room on the north side of the North Tower of the Hotel to have a railroad view. CSX Trains enter/exit a tunnel and run underneath the hotel & CNN Center. Medium to high floor rooms should be best for a view. High floor rooms will offer a view of the Norfolk Southern. See photo comments below for explanation
Railroads past Hotel: CSX Transportation / Norfolk Southern Railway (in the distance).
Comments: This motel has not been rated by RailfanMotels.comPhoto Comment: (See below photo) The Omni Hotel (North Tower) is the tall building in the lower left side of the aerial photo. You need the north side of the North Tower to view trains. Mid-High to High floor room should help improve the view. CSX Trains enter/exit a tunnel as they pretty much run right under the hotel and CNN Center. The large building in the photo is the Georgia World Congress Center, Norfolk Southern another CSX track run on the west side of the building. All tracks merge just north of the hotel (just out of view to the right at Simpson Street). A Norfolk Southern grain train can be seen on the NS line. Binoculars / zoom lens may help with viewing / photography of Norfolk Southern trains. This aerial photo faces westward.
Location/ Directions: Take I-75/I-85 South to Exit 249C-Williams Street. Follow Williams to Baker Street and turn right. Go through four stop lights and turn left onto Marietta Street. The Embassy Suites Centennial Park is at 267 Marietta Street.

Railroad View: Currently (Jan 2014) a good view is offered of the CSX line. Higher floors are best. A new College Football Hall of Fame is currently under construction between the hotel and the railroad. Once this new building is in place the railroad view may disappear.
Railroads past Hotel: CSX Transportation
Comments: This motel has not been rated by RailfanMotels.comPhoto Comment: (See photo above) The Embassy Suites is located in the lower part of this westward facing photo. The trees between the hotel and railroad are gone which increases the railroad view, however the outdoor parking area seen in the photo is now a construction site for the future College Football Hall of Fame. Once built the railroad view will likely be gone. The Omni and Hilton Garden Inn will be better choices for railroad views.
Location/ Directions: Take I-75/I-85 South to exit 249C-Williams Street. Turn right at Baker St. The Hilton Garden Inn is on right.

Railroad View: Good View. Rooms on the west or North sides of the building will be best for a railroad view. South side rooms may loose the railroad view in 2014 due to a new College Football Hall of Fame which is under construction across the street. Ask for a high floor room. Any room on the west or north side 4th floor or higher should be fine. This hotel is #2 in this immediate area for views of the railroad, behind the Omni Hotel which has the best view for trains.
Railroads past Hotel: CSX Transportation / Norfolk Southern Railway.
Comments: This motel has not been rated by RailfanMotels.comPhoto Comment: This view from the 6th or 7th floor looks north. The rear end of a empty coal train can be seen passing under the Ivan Allen Jr Blvd. overpass. A BNSF locomotive operating as a DPU (distributed power unit) shoves on the rear. Both CSX and Norfolk Southern trains pass under this bridge. A zoom lens may achieve a better photos of passing trains, although there are several obstructions such as poles which limit clean shots. For an aerial view of the area, see the photo mid-page (above the Embassy Suites listing) which may help you better understand the track layout within view from this hotel.
