All rooms have a great view of the Mississippi River, and only a block away from the casino and a block and a half from the nearest boat ramp. Railroad View:  Excellent View!  Any room on the front of the hotel will offer a railroad view.  The motel is located inside a railroad wye, there are tracks on each side of the motel.

Railroads past Hotel:  Canadian Pacific Railway. (Former SOO Line / Milwaukee Road).

Photo Comment: Looking south down the Mississippi River, the Frontier Motel is seen to the right.  The single track rail line is seen between the river and the motel.  Another line (North Leg of the Wye) is just out of view to the right of this photo.  There is also a south leg of the wye behind the motel on the other side of the trees.  According to reviews, there is a lot of trains past here, and they pass through 24-hours a day.  The photo is taken from the US Route 18 bridge which is not a place for photographers since the speed limit is 55mph without a dedicated sidewalk for pedestrians.  Photo is from the motels web site.

Photo Comment: Looking east out of one of the 8 rooms on the front of the building, a train powered by BNSF locomotives passes the hotel.  This photo was taken during the morning hours on a fall day.  Afternoon will be better lighting for photos of passing trains from the hotel, also warmer months trees will block some of this view.
