Location/ Directions:  From Indiana Toll Road I 80/90: Take exit 31 – Hwy 49 north to Chesterton.  Go 2.2 miles – to second light, turn left onto Porter Ave.  Go ½ mile – at 4-way stop, turn right onto Calumet Rd. Go .3 mile – at stop light, turn left onto Broadway.  Go 4 blocks – to flashing red light, turn right on 4th Street. Go 100 feet – turn right just before the tracks.  You are now at Riley’s Railhouse Bed & Breakfast.

About Hotel: 2-Floors, 2-Rooms, Interior Corridors, Chesterton's 1914 New York Central Freight Station has been restored & converted into a bed & breakfast.  
Rates includes breakfast, cable TV and WIFI. Private bath with shower in both rooms.  No Pets Allowed (property owners have their dogs on site).

Railroad View:  Excellent View!   Upper Birth Room has balcony overlooking the railroad.  Freight station platform has benches facing the tracks, great place to watch & photograph passing trains.  There are railroad grade crossings on both sides of the freight station, trains blow their horns past the property.  Be sure to wear ear plugs!  The B&B supplied ear plugs in case you forget.    

Railroads past Hotel:  Norfolk Southern Railway.  Former Conrail / Penn Central / New York Central Railroad - Chicago Line (Chicago to Cleveland). Expect 60+ trains past here during a 24-hour period.


Comments:  This property is built for railfans, trains are frequent & train horns are loud, bring ear plugs if you expect the sound will bother you.  This motel has not been rated by RailfanMotels.com
