Photo Comment:  The Mirage seen from the I-15 exit ramp captures the railroad in the foreground.  This is the Union Pacific mainline through Las Vegas, which sees around 40 trains during a 24-hour period.  Higher floor rooms will keep you above the other buildings between the railroad and the hotel.

Photo Comment:  The aerial photo shows the Circus Circus area in most of the picture.  The West Tower is circled in yellow, the railroad is seen to the left of the photo marked with red.  Note Circus Circus is an adventure park suited for youngsters.  The property has several lodging establishments.  They range from the nicely remodeled West Tower to a Motor Lodge and RV Park. Only the west side rooms of the West Tower will have a railroad view.

Notes:  Its original name was Union Plaza, in reference to the Union Pacific railroad station that originally stood at the site.  Before the discontinuation of Amtrak's Desert Wind train route on May 10, 1997, Amtrak made its Las Vegas, Nevada station near the Plaza. The station and ticket windows were directly connected to the hotel. It was the only train station in the United States located in a casino.
