Railroad View: Excellent View! Ask for a high floor room on the rear (River view). The Union Pacific tracks are directly behind the hotel (down a hill), there is a clear view as you look to the right out the window. Across the river you can also see BNSF Railway, they run along the west side of the Columbia River. Binoculard or zoom lens are best used to view BNSF trains. Beside trains, the hotel is a great place to watch river traffic.
Railroads past Hotel: Union Pacific Railroad (directly behind hotel) / BNSF Railway (across the river).

Photo Comments: All three photo looks out the rear of the Best Western. Union Pacific SD70M's pass the hotel with a tug pushing a barge down river. Besides the trains, this hotel offers a great view of the river.
Looking across the river, a BNSF grain train can be seen. The photo was taken using a zoom lens. Binoculars or a stronger zoom lens will let you capture a better look of the BNSF trains. The morning light is best for photography from the hotel property.
A double stack train passes the hotel on the Union Pacific Railroad. Trains passing the hotel can be loud. There is a view of a passing train on TripAdvisor, the sound of the trains is as loud as it looks! The hotel leaves ear plugs in each room for guests that don't find the trains as interesting as most of us do.
