Railroad View: Poor to Fair View.  Several tree's obstruct much of the view.  The Light Rail line is at a higher elevation then the one freight track.  The parking lot will give you the best view for pictures from this property.

Photo Comment:  Aerial picture shows the Residence Inn (which looks like group of homes) along the top of the photo.  Two rail lines can be seen.  The single freight track can be seen routed around the tree's.  Along Interstate 84, a double track line which is used by the light rail trains, will be seen much easier from the motel due to its elevation.  The freight line is several feet lower then the light rail roadbed.

Location/ Directions: I-205, Take Glisan St, Exit 21A. At signal, turn right onto Glisan St. Go appx 0.6 miles to 82nd Ave signal and turn right. Go 1/2 mile and turn right onto Jonesmore -formerly Halsey. Days Inn is on the left.

Railroad View:  Expect a Poor View.  Although the tracks are close to the motel, the railroad is below slightly grade.  A 2nd floor room would be your best choice.  Its very possible that you may only see the top half of passing trains. Note in the pictures, there are 3 windows on the2nd floor along NE Jonesmore Street, if these are rentable rooms, these rooms may ensure a Good to excellent railroad view! 

Railroads past Hotel:  Union Pacific Railroad / TRI-MET MAX (Light Rail).  MAX's 82nd Avenue station is located across the street, Red / Blue / Green line trains stop at this station.

Take exit 5(82nd Ave) to stop sign. Right at stop sign. On 82nd take right, first light turn right. Going West I-84 Take 205 South, take 21A. Right on Glisan St. 1/2 mile to 82nd Ave. to second traffic light. Take right turn on Wasco St.

Photo Comment:  The aerial photo shows the Comfort Inn motel located on the south side of I-84.  The MAX light rail station (82nd Avenue station) can be seen across I-84, on the north side.  The Union Pacific single track line is seen just north of the light rail line.  Upper floors overlooking the motel parking lot should offer a great view of the railroad.  As you can see, its a very short walk to/from the MAX station from the motel.
