Railroad View:  Fair/Good.  Would be excellent if there was not a sound wall between the motel and the track.  Rooms on the west end of the building are best for seeing trains, upper floors are better.

Railroads past Hotel:  BNSF Railway / Amtrak

Notes:  Even with the sound wall, the trains are very loud; the tracks are about 90 feet from the building.  The line is very busy - train's all night long.  Despite the sound wall, it’s worth the stay (as long as you have a room on the west end), train's are close enough to get engine numbers even at night.  Trains generally don't move over 20-mph past the motel, the slack action can easily wake you up.  During my visit in 2004, front desk clerk said to use caution in the area at night.  I didn't notice anything (or anybody) harmful.

Comments:     This is a former Ramada Limited, later Howard Johnson motel.

Photo Comment:  Photo of the BNSF train was taken from the 3rd floor on the west end of the building.  I stayed in the motel when it was a Ramada property.
