Railroad View:  Good View.  Although most room do not face the tracks directly, most rooms in the motel offer a railroad view.  No trees or fence between the two make a good railroad view possible. Cat tails growing along the tracks on the east side of the property prevent an excellent view.  East side rooms 100-117 are best, Room # 117 being closest to the railroad.  West side rooms provide a bit better view than the east side.  Room #'s 126 to 131 are best, with room # 131 being next to the railroad.

Railroads past Hotel: BNSF Railway.  Most trains are coal trains / empty hopper trains.

Photo Comment:  The single story Budget Host Inn is located along the railroad tracks.  The railroad tracks are slightly elevated, located along the line of bushes.  Try to get a room on the railroad end of the motel for the best view.

Railroad View:  Expect a Good View.  All rooms on the front of the hotel of this recently restored historic hotel will have a railroad view.  The only thing that obstructs an excellent view of the railroad is CB&Q "Burlington Route" steam locomotive # 5631 displayed across the street.  A railway crossing across the street is part of a quiet zone, trains do not blow their horns in town.

Railroads past Hotel: BNSF Railway.

Photo Comment:  This Google Street picture shows the double track BNSF Railway with Burlington Route # 5631 displayed trackside.  The Sheridan Inn can be seen in the distance.  Out of the picture to the right is the classic Sheridan CB&Q train station.  There is no rail passenger service in Sheridan.

Railroad View:  Excellent View.  Any room on the 2nd floor on the rear of the building offers an excellent railroad view.  A logging business behind the motel may block the first floor railroad view.  The best light for photo's from the motel is in the afternoon.  There is a grade crossing behind the motel that the trains blow for, the horns are extremely loud.

Railroads past Hotel: BNSF Railway.  Expect around 25 moves (trains & light engine moves) during a 24-hour period, most trains are coal trains / empty hopper trains.  During my 13 hour stay, I saw 13 trains (which include 2 light power moves, and 2 merchandise freight trains).

Photo Comment: Above Left: A night photo taken from room # 247 shows a westbound BNSF empty hopper train crossing a local street behind the motel.  Trains blow their horn for this crossing every time they pass.  Above Right:  The tracks can be seen in this daylight view from the same room.  During my stay, 1st floor rooms wouldn't have had a railroad view due to logs piled up just below this photo.  I failed to photograph any of the 5 daylight trains that passed during my stay.
